International Friendly: Brazil Dominate India

Brazil made a commanding start to the first meeting between the two national teams, beating India 4-0 at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata. The International Friendly offered the hosts a rare test against one of football’s most decorated sides, but Brazil’s movement and sharp finishing soon put the contest on their terms.

Estêvão opened the scoring in the 28th minute, then turned provider for Pedro just before half-time. Samuel Lino added a third after the break and struck again in stoppage time, completing a victory that reflected Brazil’s dominance while giving India useful experience against elite opposition.

In brief: Brazil won 4-0 in Kolkata; Estêvão scored and assisted; Pedro netted twice; Samuel Lino also scored twice. Brazil finished its gathering with two wins and a draw, while India’s next test is against Uruguay.

Brazil vs India: Estêvão and Pedro put the visitors in control

Brazil took the initiative early, moving the ball quickly and finding space around India’s defensive line. The breakthrough arrived in the 28th minute: Matheuzinho picked out Estêvão, who cut inside and drove a shot in at the near post. The finish was precise, though India’s goalkeeper could not keep out the attempt.

India had moments of resistance, but Brazil’s pace in transition kept the pressure on. In the 41st minute, Estêvão slipped Pedro through on goal; the forward finished from close range to make it 2-0 before the interval.

Second-half changes do not slow Brazil’s dominance

Carlo Ancelotti made five substitutions at half-time, including changes involving Marquinhos and Vinícius Júnior. The reshuffle did not disrupt Brazil’s control: in the 58th minute, a misplaced Indian clearance gave Pedro the chance to release Samuel Lino, who calmly beat the goalkeeper for the third goal.

India threatened in spells and tested Brazil’s organisation, but Pedro Morisco kept a clean sheet. Lino then completed his brace in the 90th minute plus five, turning the result into a 4-0 victory. The late goal underlined the depth available to Brazil, even after major changes to the lineup.

What the International Friendly means for Brazil and India

For Brazil, the result completed a run of three matches that included a draw and a win against Australia, leaving the Seleção with two victories and one draw across the gathering. The team is scheduled to return to competition on 14 November, with Japan and Singapore next on its calendar.

India, meanwhile, will take the lessons of a demanding match into Tuesday’s meeting with Uruguay, scheduled for 16:00. Facing Brazil exposed the difficulty of containing quick combinations and direct runs, but the home side also created moments of pressure of its own. For both national teams, the match offered more than a scoreline: it provided a clear measure of where preparation and execution can make the difference.
